A good performance on a real stage

When your exercise is good, it doesn't guarantee the same or better performance on a real stage. 
 I usually lack about 10 percent of what I am expected to achieve there, partly because of pressures and tension, I guess.
How do sprinters overcome the stage fright?
Actors?  Players?
Do they concentrate themselves only on the goal 100 meters ahead?
There must be a secret about it.
